During the 2nd IND vs AUS Test in Adelaide, there were a few concerns surrounding Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness, where, it seemed liked he had suffered an adductor injury. There were questions if the leader of India’s pace bowling attack, Bumrah would play in the Gabba Test or not, as well. But then, if Thursday’s nets session is anything to go by, the pacer is going great guns.
Jasprit Bumrah Fit for Gabba Test
In a video uploaded by Bharat Sundaresan, Jasprit Bumrah can be seen bowling full tilt to Indian batsmen KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Although he warmed-up with a couple of leg-breaks, he then went to his regular, fast bowling. Plus, this is an indication that Rahul will continue to open, instead of Rohit Sharma.
Meanwhile, the Gabba Test starts from December 14, and Team India would like to make a few changes. While the batting order would largely remain the same — with Rohit Sharma and No.6, Washington Sundar could make a comeback for sure. Mohammed Siraj, despite picking wickets has leaked a lot of runs, and someone like an Akash Deep or even Prasidh Krishna could get a look in.
Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana Out?
There were also murmurs, that Team management would like to go in Ravindra Jadeja at some point. But given the nature of Gabba wicket, where there will be extra pace and bounce, a pacer might be preferred. In fact, Harshit Rana had failed in Adelaide, and could make way for a fresher bowler (Akash Deep or Prasidh), as well.
