Rohit Sharma vs Star Sports tussle

This is not the first time that Star Sports has faced backlash from Rohit Sharma. Having broken his century drought during the Indore ODI against New Zealand last month, Rohit expressed his frustration over the broadcasters talking about a ‘3-year-wait’ for his ODI century.  He had even requested Star Sports to show the‘right things’. Speaking at a press conference, Team India skipper had said, “Regarding the first hundred in three years, I’ve played only 12 ODIs in three years, so three years sounds like a lot.

He further said “You guys should know what’s happening. I know that it was shown on the broadcast, sometimes, you (the broadcasters) need to show the right things also. The last entire year, we didn’t play ODI cricket, we focused on T20 cricket a lot. So, sometimes, people should keep things in mind…the broadcasters should show the right things.”

IND vs AUS: R Ashwin destroys Australia’s batting lineup

Having taken 223 run lead in the first innings, Indian bowlers especially R Ashwin steamrolled the Australia’s batting lineup. Ashwin accounted for fife wickets starting with dismissal of Usman Khawaja. He then picked up wickets of David Warner, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb and Alex Carey. Four of those batters have been dismissed leg-before wicket.  In Australia’s second innings, vice-captain Steven Smith remained unbeaten on 25 runs to emerge as the higest run-scorer for the visitors.

Besides Ashwin’s fifer, Shami and Jadeja picked two wickets each and Axar dismissed one batter. Ravindra Jadeja removed Marnus Labuschange and Pat Cummins. Axar Patel scalped the wicket of Todd Murphy. SHami dismissed Nathan Lyon and Scot Boland respectively.
