IND vs AUS Live: Rohit Sharma rues absence of 6th bowling optionThe development comes minutes after Rohit Sharma rued the absence of the 6th bowling option for India in the T20 World Cup.

“Hardik is coming along pretty well, but it’ll be a while before he will start to bowl. He hasn’t started bowling, but he should be ready by the start of the tournament. We have quality in the main bowlers, but you need an option for a sixth bowler,” Rohit Sharma said at the toss.

Earlier, Kapil Dev had given examples of Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar who helped India as the 6th bowling option during their playing days.

“When Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar were playing, they could have bowled 2 out of 4 overs, the captain had an extra person to consider if one of the bowlers got hit and it made his job easier. If Hardik can bowl even 2 overs, it gives India that much more balance,” he had told Sportskeeda.

After this match, India will next play Pakistan in their opening game of the T20 World Cup on October 24.

In Group 2, India will then face New Zealand and Afghanistan, the emerging force in T20 cricket, plus the winners of Group B and runners-up from Group A.
