IND vs AUS Highlights: Skipper KL Rahul stood till the end as India completed a comfortable win over Australia in the first ODI match played in Mohali on September 22 (Friday). Apart from Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suryakumar Yadav also stroked fifties with the bat as the Men in Blue completed a fine chase with the bat.
Earlier, Mohammed Shami picked up a 5-fer as Australia got bundled out for 276 runs in 50 overs. For Australia, David Warner was the top scorer with 52. Josh Inglis (45), Steve Smith (41) and Marnus Labuchagne (39) were the other notable contributors as Australia post a modest target on a good Mohali pitch. Apart from Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were among the wickets. Earlier, the Men in Yellow were asked to bat first after India won the toss.

KL Rahul will be leading the squad in the first two ODIs, with Rohit Sharma taking over as captain for the third ODI with the 15-member World Cup squad. The inclusion of Axar Patel in the squad remains uncertain, contingent on his recovery from a forearm injury sustained during the Asia Cup match against Bangladesh in Colombo.

On the other hand, the Australian team has seen the comeback of several crucial players in the IND vs AUS ODI series who were sidelined due to injuries suffered during their Ashes tour in England. These players were also not included in the squad during the South Africa tour.
Pat Cummins and Steve Smith are returning after dealing with wrist injuries, while bowler Mitchell Starc has rejoined the squad in the IND vs AUS ODI series after recovering from muscle soreness in his groin and shoulder. All-rounders Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green have also made their way back into the Australian squad.
