IND vs AUS: Jasprit Bumrah injured? Picks up adductor injury to add to India’s woes

IND vs AUS: Jasprit Bumrah has been India's best bowler in the series so far, bagging 11 wickets in all.

As it is things weren’t looking bright for Team India as it is, a bigger blow came for them as soon as the new ball was taken by skipper Rohit Sharma. During the 80th over of the Aussie innings, India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah seemed to pick up an adductor injury. On the third delivery of the over, centurion Travis Head cleared him for a four, and soon after that, Bumrah just paused, while going back to his mark.

Slowly, the pain or discomfort kicked in, as the physios rushed to the ground for treatment. Even though the bowler got up after a bit of treatment and stretching, but then he didn’t look at his best. Post that, Travis Head smashed him for another boundary. While the extent of Bumrah’s injury is not known as yet, but then this could be a detrimental moment in the IND vs AUS second match.

By far, Jasprit Bumrah has been the best bowler for India, bagging 11 wickets in the two matches that have been played so far. In fact, in the Adelaide Test too, he has the best bowling figures among any other Indian bowler. So far, in the 20 overs he has bowled, he has returned with figures of 3/53.

IND vs AUS Series

As far as the match is concerned, the hosts were leaps and bounds ahead of the Indian team. After Rohit Sharma’s team was bowled out for a paltry 180, Australia, especially Travis Head was severe against the Indian bowling attack. The latter went on to score yet another ton at Adelaide, to take away the match from the visitors. He went on to score 140 from 141 deliveries.

Mind you, this is a five-match Test series, and Jasprit Bumrah is just the most valuable bowler for Team India. The third Test of the series starts on December 14 in Brisbane and the last will begin in Sydney on Jan 3.
