India will play the third Test of four-match series against Australia on 1st March at Holkar Stadium in Indore. In a pre-match press conference, wicket-keeper batter KS Bharat said that wickets or not unplayable in India.
“I enjoyed playing whatever I did in Delhi. It was about keeping it simple and backing your defence. Wickets are not unplayable, just have to back your defence,” said Bharat.
KS Bharat has made his presence felt in this series with the bat as well as behind the stumps. In the second innings of the Delhi Test, he scored an unbeaten 23 on a tricky surface to see India home. The right-hander was not afraid to play his shots against the Aussie spinners.

“Rohit bhai told me that I will bat at no 6 in Delhi 2nd innings. The moment Australia were all out, I was ready to bat and contribute. The intent is never a problem, shot selection is critical on these tracks. Runs will come here if shot selection is right. Trusting defence is key,” said the Andhra star.

Speaking of Bharat’s First Class cricket career, he has played 88 matches and scored 4744 runs. He has 9 centuries and 27 half-centuries to his name. In List-A the 29-year-old batter has featured 64 times and has scored 1950 runs. His highest score in this format is unbeaten 161 runs.
One of the major talking points ahead of the game is the possibility of young Ishan Kishan making his Test debut. Kishan, a left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, has been in excellent form in the limited-overs format and was expected to get a chance in the Test team as well. However, it seems like the Indian team management has decided to hold off on his debut for a bit longer.
While Ishan Kishan may have to wait a bit longer for his Test debut, KS Bharat will be looking to make the most of his opportunity and help India secure their berth at World Test Championship.
