It is difficult to recall the precise moment or game when India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja received the title of “Sir.” But what is certain is that someone trolling Jadeja on social media called him “Sir” in a sarcastic attempt to tease him whenever he struggled with either the bat or the ball, or both. The connotative meaning of the tag did not go down well with Jadeja, who felt the ‘fukre logwas confined to creating memes while seated in front of computers all day.

Nowadays, Jadeja has become one of the top all-rounders in the world. He has found form in Test and in white-ball cricket as well and currently, he started to be called ‘Sir’ out of respect. Till date, whenever Jadeja wins games for India, he is hailed as ‘Sir Jadeja’. You can easily find lines of ‘Sir Jadeja for a reason’ on social media, whenever he does well.

In an Interview Jadeja hit back at the trollers and said that the idle memers have nothing to do and make memes all day. “Computer ke saamne fukre log baithte rehte hain, meme banate rehte hain aur kuchh bhi likhte rehte hain.” Said Jadeja.

On being called ‘Sir’, he said, “People should call me by my name. That is enough. I hate being called Sir. If you wish, call me Bapu, that’s what I like. This Sir-Var, I don’t like at all. Actually, it just doesn’t register when people call me Sir.

The left-arm all-rounder made a strong come-back in Nagpur Test. He smashed crucial 70 runs in the first inning and scalped seven wickets in the match. Jadeja also won the Player of the Match award for his splendid performance.
