IND vs AUS: No one knows what the future holds for KL Rahul. Whether he will be dropped from India Playing XI or not for the last two matches of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The same sentiment has been echoed by former chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth. He also advised ‘Rolls Royce Rahul’ to take a break. Follow India vs Australia LIVBE updates with InsideSport.IN

IND vs AUS: Ex-Chief Selector advice ‘Rolls Royce KL Rahul’ to take BREAK, echoes it’s time for Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw to open with Rohit Sharma
The Indian team management has some time before the third Test begins in Indore to consider whether Rahul deserves one final chance before being dropped or if they’ve had enough. K Srikkanth, a former Indian batter, claims that if he had been the chairman of the selectors, he would have advised the cricketer facing criticism to take a break.
“I have tremendous admiration for the class of Rahul, in fact I call him Rolls Royce Rahul… but it is just not happening for him at the moment. If I was the chairman of selectors, I would have gone up to him and told him to take a break for a while,” Srikkanth told TOI.
Srikanth opined that it’s a dog-eat-dog world and it can happen to anybody, especially an opener.
“I cannot pinpoint a technical deficiency in his game at the moment. I think this is more mental and all Rahul needs to do is take a break and sort his mind out. There’s no reason why he can’t come back all guns blazing,” Srikkanth added.

It appears that Rahul might only have one more opportunity in the third Test match in Indore. Team management think he is only one strong inning away from getting back in form, and it could happen at any time.
“But with all due respect to Rahul, it is time to play Shubman. You can’t keep a player waiting when he is in the form of his life,” Srikkanth said.
We’ll know in a week whether Rahul gets one more opportunity or if Shubman will get the chance to dazzle in Indore.
