IND vs AUS: Australia prepare for another turning track in Delhi
After succumbing to spin in the Nagpur Test, Australia’s batting lineup will be put to the test yet again in Delhi. The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a spin-friendly wicket with batsmen having the chance to score plenty of runs on the first two days. The low bounce on this track will make it difficult for batters to play good shots. The average first innings total is 342. In the 4th innings, it goes down to 165.
The Australia team will have their hands full yet again as they look to tackle the deadly duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. With Mitchell Starc returning from injury, Australia’s bowling will have some solidity. However, the exciting part would be to see how many spinners the visitors will play after playing just two spinners in Nagpur.
The last time India played at this venue they demolished the South Africa batting lineup. In the ODI match played in October last year. Proteas were bowled out for 99 runs with spinners bagging 9 wickets in the match.

IND vs AUS: Matt Kuhnemann set to make Test debut
Uncapped Australia left-arm spinner Matt Kuhnemann, who is flying in for Mitchell Swepson. Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Australia coach Andrew McDonald said, “He’s (Kuhnemann) a live chance to play in the next Test match. If we play three spinners then we clearly want back-up here and available in the squad if that’s the way we want to go.”
Kuhnemann was shocked to receive the call up . Speaking about the same he said, “Got a phone call yesterday morning when walking out for the warm-ups. Was pretty shocked,” Kuhnemann said after Queensland’s Sheffield Shield match against Victoria”.
“I was just lucky enough that my passport was in my bag. I watched every day (of the first Test) just being such a fan. These series are so good to watch. Todd Murphy was exceptional and sort of watched how (Ravindra) Jadeja bowled. So just really excited to get over there”.
