How is the Kotla Pitch? – Australians are already afraid that it will be a turning track and they are right about it. With the harsh winter in Delhi, the pitch hasn’t received much sunlight. Hence, the pitch is expected to have a low bounce. With no rain, it is already dry and that could spoil the party for Aussies.
The past records also suggest it will be a spin-heavy track with some great spin records at the venue. In the last ODI played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in October, India bowled out SouthAfrica for 99 with 8 wickets going to spinners including Kuldeep Yadav’s four-fer.
Australians struggled in Nagpur to deal with India’s spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. They folded for 177 and 91 as India routed the World No 1 Test team in three days.

To deal with India’s spinners, Australia opted for a lengthy practice session on a different Nagpur pitch on Monday. Australia’s entire top order barring Steve Smith had a batting practice to deal with Ashwin & Co.
India & Australia arrive in Delhi – Meanwhile, both teams arrived in Delhi on Tuesday. Some of the Indian stars had a two-day break as they went home. The rest including Ravindra Jadeja and Cheteshwar Pujara opted to stay back in Nagpur and have a practice session of their own.
