“We will be honouring Cheteshwar Pujara with a memento before the start of the Day 1 here at the Arun Jaitley Stadium,” DDCA Joint Secretary, Rajan Manchanda informed CricketNext.
“President Rohan Jaitley will be present during the felicitation ceremony along with the other office bearers here. This will be separate from what the BCCI has planned for Pujara’s 100th Test,” added Manchanda.

Ahead of the match, Pujara attended a Press conference on Thursday.
- “When I started playing cricket, never thought I will play 100 tests.”
- “My favorite innings is my debut where I scored 72, it was the most important knock in my career. 2017 Bangalore-97 vs aus, first overseas hundred at joburg, 124 at Adelaide and the Gabba one.”
- “To do well in test cricket – I do yoga, meditation, work on my fitness, detach yourself what is being spoken about you social media TV, even if it is positive things, so I try and do all that.”
- “My dream is to win the WTC final for India.”
In the second Test of the 2010 series in Bengaluru against Australia, Pujara made his debut with 4 and 72 in a winning effort. Pujara took over at No. 3 after Rahul Dravid’s retirement and quickly established himself as one of India’s mainstays in the middle-order in the longest format.
Pujara has played in 99 Test matches and has amassed 7021 runs at a 44.15 average, 19 hundreds, and 34 fifty-plus runs, with a best of 206* against England in Ahmedabad in 2012.
He is only behind Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, and Mohammad Azharuddin on India’s all-time list of players with the most hundreds.
