Weather Forecast for Day 4

Thunderstorms are expected on June 10, which will cause a significant shift in the weather for the final two days of the match. On Saturday, a heavy shower is expected with a 70% probability of rain and a 28% chance of thunderstorms; as a result, play may be halted for a few hours. The temperature is expected to drop, and 70–73% of the sky will likely be covered in clouds, bringing about some gloomy conditions.

Coming to the match, team India’s mini-comeback in the was made possible by a brilliant 109-run stand for the seventh wicket between Ajinkya Rahane (89) and Shardul Thakur (51). The pair did require some luck on their side facing a strong Australian bowling assault, and they did so during Day 3’s morning session.

Rahane and Thakur both helped their team significantly decrease the margin of deficit by taking advantage of their pacers’ missed catches and dismissals on No-Balls. Despite all of this, they were unable to stop them from giving the Australians a huge 173-run advantage in their first innings.

Early in their second innings, the Indian pacers did send both of their openers back to the dugout. The bowlers were a little worn out, though, as Steven Smith (34) and Marnus Labuschagne (41*) put together a 62-run partnership for the second wicket.

When it seemed as the two had taken the match away from India, Ravindra Jadeja (2/25) dismissed Smith and Travis Head (18) to renew optimism in the team. Australia still has six wickets in hand at Stumps, and their lead has increased to 296 runs.
