IND vs AUS: Australian media MOURNS loss of Dharamshala Test, say ‘Australia’s only chance to win in India robbed’, Check WHY?
Why was Dharamshala Test moved out from hosting the third Test?
Dharamshala stadium is under renovation following heavy damages due to rain. But with just a little over two weeks left in the match, the venue will not be ready to host the match. The main point in contention is the outfield which will need at least a month to be of international standard.
“The third Test of the Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, originally scheduled to take place at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala from 1st to 5th March has now been moved to Holkar Stadium, Indore. Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully,” BCCI confirmed in an official statement on Monday.
IND vs AUS: Why Dharamshala was the best chance for Australia to win the third Test?
· Dharmshala is not a typical Indian deck, owing to the high altitude that it is situated.
· Dharmshala deck is a fast bowler’s paradise as the ball will swing and seam.
· Australia’s struggles with spinners in Nagpur vindicated the media’s fact that the team will struggle in the reaming three Test matches.
· Indore deck will aid spinners, as was evidenced in the Ranji semi-final match between Madhya Pradesh and Bengal.
· Australia though have played one Test match in Dharmshala and have lost the game during the 2017 series.
· If Australia do not win the Delhi Test, then they can also draw the series, as it is four-match Test Series.
