IND vs AUS: KL Rahul Temple Visit – Ahead of the first India-Australia Test match in Nagpur, KL Rahul visited the famous Sai Baba Mandir. The Test vice-captain aced the casual look and sought the blessings of the almighty before the first Test, which is set to be played on Thursday (February 9). These four Test matches are pretty vital for Rahul as he missed out on scoring runs against Bangladesh. In two Test matches the right-hand batter could not a single fifty and failed to get India off to a good start. With Shubman Gill waiting to grab the opportunity, Rahul would be hoping to seal the opener spot during the Australia series. Follow IND vs AUS Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

IND vs AUS: Focus on Rahul the Test batter, as India aim to start the Nagpur Test with a win
- 22, 23, 10, & 2 were the scores registered by Rahul in the two Test matches against Bangladesh.
- Since scoring 123 against South Africa in Centurion in December 2021, the right-hand batter has scored only one fifty in the three Test matches.
- Rahul’s average has also dropped below 35. Another failure in the Australia Test series would pretty much be the end of the road for the right-hand batter.
- Gill has solidified his reputation as an all-format player by scoring centuries in all three formats of the game in recent times.
- The youngster scored his maiden Test hundred against Bangladesh, and since then has taken the ODI T20 format by storm.
- A senior BCCI official has made it clear that Rahul won’t keep in Test matches.
- So the Karnataka player is set to open alongside Rohit Sharma in the Nagpur Test at least.
“KL has had a number of injuries in the last one year or so. It’s not ideal for him to keep wickets in Tests. The test requires specialist keepers. There are two in the team in Bharat and Ishan. It’s up to the team management to decide who to pick,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
