Pujara needs just 100 more runs to amass 2,000 runs against the Aussies in Test format. Pujara will also become only active Indian batter after Virat Kohli to achieve the feat. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is on top of the pile, as expected, with 3630 runs in 39 matches including 11 hundreds.

Pujara will also be boosted by his record in Delhi in Test matches. The No. 3 batter 248 runs in 3 Tests at an average of 49.60. Pujara’s highest score at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is 82 and the senior campaigner would love a three-figure score.

The second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is scheduled to begin on Friday. In the four-Test series, both teams have their sights set on making the final of the ICC World Test Championship, 2021–2023.
