IND vs AUS: Head ready to take charge with the ball, southpaw says Daniel Vittori’s mentorship helped a lot – Australia have not decided on playing two spinners in Nagpur, but what is certain is that Head will play at the vital number five position. While the southpaw’s primary job is to score runs in the middle order, the 29-year-old is also willing to take charge with the ball in hand. Head feels he has developed his off-spin in the past eight months.

The southpaw has credited Vittori for helping him bowl well in the last seven Test matches. IND vs AUS: Labuschagne, Smith other options Australia have as prat-time spin options

  • Cummins is set to use Head as a part-time spinner, the Australia skipper also has two options in Smith Labuschagne.
  • While Labuschagne only bowled once during the last five Test matches, Smith rolled his arm in the Test series against South Africa and picked up one wicket.
  • If Australia decides to play only one spinner in Lyon, Head, Smith, and Labuschagne would likely bowl a few overs of spin.
  • For now, Head seems likely to bowl more overs, owing to the amount of success he has had in the last seven Tests.
