India lost captain Rohit Sharma early while chasing 172. Rohit scored successive ducks in both IND vs AFG matches. Virat Kohli came onto the crease and started middling the ball right from the start. India’s other opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was playing an attacking innings and Kohli looked to keep Yashasvi on strike as much as possible.
However, Kohli soon joined Yashasvi to accelerate India’s run rate even further. He played some majestic shots on the offside, over the top of short cover.
Just when it looked Kohli would convert his start to a big innings, he departed courtesy an ill-timed shot off the bowling of Naveen ul Haq.
Indian cricket fans took to social media to praise Kohli for his short yet effective innings. Some social users called Kohli ‘the GOAT’ while some others hailed Kohli as ‘Anchor, Aggressor and finisher’.
