India Cricket Team’s ace bowler Axar Patel is on the verge of reaching a big milestone. The ace spinner and handy batter is en route to become India’s 9th bowler to scalp 50 T20I wickets. With 49 wickets, Axar Patel is now behind Ravindra Jadeja. Patel has the golden chance to reach the milestone in the IND vs AFG 3rd T20I.
Axar Patel has been India’s best bowler in the ongoing T20I series. He has scalped 4 wickets so far (2 wickets apiece on both games). With 1 wicket remaining, he can reach the mark when India take on Afghanistan for the final T20I match of the series in Bengaluru.
Ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal leads the charts with 96 wickets from 80 matches. Axar on the other hand has scalped 49 wickets from just 52 games.
In the previous game, Axar Patel made the headlines by picking up his 200th T20 Wicket. Going by the stats and the current form, Patel is ahead of Ravindra Jadeja.

Even former India cricketer, Parthiv Patel has vouched for the fact that currently, Axar Patel is ahead of Jadeja in the picking order. “In this format, yes. I think Axar brings in more variety. He doesn’t bowl in a one-dimensional way. He bats at any number. If you look at this Indian team, you need a power hitter, and Axar brings that. And in this format, Axar is ahead of Jadeja, as far as I am concerned,” Parthiv told JioCinema.
