IND vs AFG 2nd T20I: Arshdeep Singh completes fine comeback after 3-fer in Indore

Arshdeep Singh was wayward in the first over conceding 9 runs.

Pacer Arshdeep Singh made a decent comeback in the IND vs AFG 2nd T20I after he failed to get a single wicket in the series opener. Arshdeep Singh (3/32) finished with a three-wicket haul and bowled a brilliant final over that included a couple of run outs and a total of 3 wickets.

Earlier, team India captain Rohit Sharma won second toss in a row and elected to bowl first. Arshdeep Singh was wayward in the first over conceding 9 runs and Mukesh Kumar also proved costly in his first spell conceding 21 in 2 overs. Ravi Bishnoi was introduced in the third over and chipped with Gurbaz’s wicket in his first over. Ibrahim was dismissed by Axar Patel in the last powerplay over.

Gulbadin Naib at 3 played a whirlwind knock and kept attacking despite wickets falling at the other end as Azmatullah Omarzai was soon nabbed by Shivam Dube. Naib was dropped on 41 by Virat Kohli at long on but it was a tough ask. Mohammad Nabi also got a life at 11 with Jitesh Sharma putting down a tough chance behind the stumps. Naib struck 5 fours and 4 sixes in his career best 57 off 35 balls and was sent back by Axar Patel who claimed his 200th T20 wicket.

Mohammad Nabi struggled to keep the scoreboard ticking and was caught in the deep by Rinku Singh off Bishnoi. Najibullah Zadran scored 23 off 21, Karim Janat played a quickfire 20 off 10 balls and Mujeeb Ur Rahman scored 21 in just 9 balls to take Afghanistan past 150.
