Defending champions India faced a heavy defeat in IND U19 vs PAK U19 clash in the ongoing ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday (December 10) in Dubai. After being restricted to 259 in 50 overs, Indian bowlers looked flat against Pakistan batters. Azan Awais was the star for the Boys in Green with the bat as he guided the side to a 8-wicket win with an unbeaten century.
Earlier, Adarsh Singh (62), skipper Uday Saharan (60), Sachin Dhas (58) scored half-centuries as India posted 259 for 9 in 50 overs.
Pakistan pacer Mohammad Zeeshan was amongst Pakistan’s standout bowlers. He finished with figures of 46 for 3, helping his team restrict the in-form Team India to a below par total.

Pakistan batters then played their part as they didn’t allow any Indian bowler to settle their line and length. Awais scored an unbeaten 105 off 130 balls. He received good support from Shahzaib Khan and skipper Saad Baig, who scored half-centuries to guide Pakistan to a convincing win.
Notably, both teams entered into this game on the back of big wins in their opening fixtures. India defeated Afghanistan, while Pakistan registered comfortable win over Nepal.
With this win, Pakistan has moved to top of the Group A standings, while India is at 2nd position. Notably, top two teams from each group will meet in the semi-finals.
India will face Nepal in their final group stage game at ICC Academy Oval 2, Dubai on December 12.
