Mohammed Nawaz has proven to be really good with bat and ball in recent T20I games for Pakistan. The southpaw yet again demonstrated his hitting prowess when he scored a match-winning 38 off just 22 balls against New Zealand in T20 Tri-series final. Haider Ali has also grabbed his chances well as the finisher of the side. The youngster has been scoring runs at 130 plus strike rate.

1. Mohammed Nawaz

India’s Asia Cup 2022 campaign was cut short by Nawaz’s blazing cameo of 40-odd runs in the Super 4 stage. Nawaz walked in at the crucial number four role and started attacking from word go. Not only with the bat, but the all-rounder can also chip with vital overs in the middle overs. The southpaw has been used in different roles for Pakistan as a pinch hitter, as a finisher, and in the middle order. The 28-year-old’s ability to go bang from the word go can make him a dangerous player.

India have witnessed the first-hand experience of what damage Nawaz can do with bat and ball in hand. So far, the all-rounder has played 48 T20I and has scored 354 runs at a strike rate 0f 136. He has picked up 44 wickets as well at 7.38 runs per over. Nawaz is in good form as he scored 107 runs in NZ Tri-series as a finisher.

2. Haider Ali

Haider Ali’s numbers in 31 T20Is have not been jaw-dropping, but he is the future of Pakistan cricket. The right-hand batter has been shunted up and down the order. But in the Tri-Series in New Zealand, he was given a fixed role. He batted at number five and scored runs at a strike rate of 150. In the final of the NZ Tri-Series, the right-hand batter scored a blistering 31 off just 15 balls. Haider’s stunning assault before the T20 World Cup is sure a dangerous sign for team India.

3. Iftikhar Ahmed

Iftikhar Ahmed has emerged as the key batter for Pakistan in the middle order. Ahmed’s strike rate is the only concern as he scores runs at 126. Barring that, he has emerged as the bankable middle-order batter. In the NZ Tri-Series, he scored 65 runs in three matches. He contributed whenever he got a chance to bat. In the Asia Cup also, he scored 150 plus runs. Ahmed is the glue in the middle order for Pakistan.

4. Naseem Shah

19-year-old Naseem Shah grabbed eyeballs in his first T20I game against India in Asia Cup. He dismissed KL Rahul for a duck and did not let the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi feel one bit. In the Continental Cup, the fast bowler led the pace attack from the front and was making an impact in each of the games. Naseem’s pace sets him apart from the rest. Plus, his ability to be accurate. In just nine T20Is, he has picked up 11 wickets at an economy rate of 7 runs per over.

5. Mohammed Wasim Jr

Another exciting pacer from Pakistan, Mohammed Wasim Jr he has all the ingredients to be the number-one bowler. Wasim can clock speeds in excess of 145 plus and also swing the ball consistently. He was lethal in New Zealand conditions and ended up picking up 7 wickets in five games. Wasim is likely to be in playing XI in the T20 World Cup match against India. Shaheen, Wasim, and Naseem, Pakistan’s pace attack sure looks lethal.
