INDIA-Legends beat SriLanka-Legends: Opting to bat first, India Legends were delivered an early shocker with captain Sachin Tendulkar being dismissed for a first ball duck in Raipur. Suresh Raina also lasted only a couple of deliveries as the defending champions looked in all sorts of toruble. However, Naman Ojha looked in fine touch and continued on from his semi-final heroics.
India promoted Vinay Kumar to No.4 to serve as a pinch hitter and the move paid dividends as he former pacer stitched a valuable partnership with Ojha. While the keeper kept rotating the striking with the odd boundary, Kumar operated with full freedom giving the Indian innings a much neeed impetus.
Congratulation to Team India on winning the Road Safety World Series for the second time in a row! 🎉

The duo put on 90 for the third wicket in no time, with Ojha reaching his second consecutive half-century. Vinay eventually was dismissed for 36 off just 21 balls, bringing Yuvraj Singh into the crease. The left-hander showed glimpses of his former self with some delightful strokes but perished after scoring 19.
As wickets continued to tumble on the other end, Ojha grew in stature finding the boundary at will. He eventually moved into three figures with a stunning six over deep midwicket ensuring India had a competitive score on the board. Stuart Binny hit two boundaries off the final two deliveries to take India to 195 effectively putting them in the front seat.

In response, Sri Lanka Legends never got going with Sanath Jayasuriya and Dilshan Munaweera booth departing inside the powerplay. Tilakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga got stuck in to force a rebuild but the pressure of the scoring rate meant that SL soon slipped to 41/4.
Jeevan Mendis and Asela Gunaratne put on a promising 37-run partnership before both were dismissed in quick succession. When all seemed lost for the Lankans, Ishan Jayaratne and Mahela Udawatte kept them in the hunt with a stunning counter assault.
The duo added 63 for the seventh wicket giving Sri Lanka an outside chance in the contest. Jayaratne managed to reach his half-century in 21 balls, but his dismissal in the penultimate over ended SriLanka’s hopes. For India, Vinay Kumar was the pick off the bowlers with a three-wicket haul, while Abhimanyu Mithun also chipped with a spell of 2/27.
