Virat Kohli & Co. scripted history with a memorable 113 runs victory in the Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park, Centurion, and breached South Africa’s fortress – Centurion.
While Team India finally managed to register a victory in Centurion in its third attempt, the special victory also marked a couple of individual milestones with Mohd Shami becoming only the fifth Indian pacer to take 200 Test wickets and Rishabh Pant completing 100 dismissals in Test cricket.

The Player of the Match and India’s vice-captain, KL Rahul termed the year 2021 as a special for team India. Apart from breaching Proteas’ fortress, team India also completed four Test wins outside Asia in 2021 as the year comes to an end.
In 2021, India registered famous Test victories in Brisbane, Lord’s, Oval, and the latest addition is Centurion.
Talking further about the dressing room atmosphere, KL Rahul says “is amazing at the moment.”

Moreover, with the Centurion triumph, team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series and will be eying for a bigger milestone – the first-ever Test series win on South Africa soil.
Team India is yet to win a Test series in South Africa and looking at the moment Virat Kohli & Co have a perfect opportunity to end their “First Ka Thirst”. The already struggling South Africa is set to miss out on the services of Quinton de Kock that even enhances India’s chances.
The second Test of the three-match series will be played in Johannesburg from January 03 and Virat Kohli & Co will have their eyes already set to seal the series with one game to spare.
