India A are all set to lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan A in the finals of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup on Sunday. Both India and Pakistan, who have one title each to their name, will be eyeing to add another trophy to the cabinet. Ahead of the high-octane finals, let’s take a look at the history of the tournament, especially versus India.

ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup history

India emerged as the winners of the inaugural edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup tournament by beating Pakistan. The U23 team defeated their rivals by 9 wickets in the game that was held at Singapore.

Pakistan, too, have one title to their name. The Pakistan U23 team emerged victorious over the Bangladesh U23 team by 77 runs to win the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup at Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Currently, India and Pakistan aim to add another trophy to their cabinet, in an attempt to equal Sri Lanka’s record. Sri Lanka has won the tournament in consecutive years – 2017 and 2018.

Having played 17 games so far in the history of the tournament, India have won 12 games and have lost 5 matches. Pakistan have played 19 games so far and have won 13 games while losing 5 and with 1 game ending in a tie.

IND A’s road to the finals

Following a convincing victory against Bangladesh A in the semi-final, India A is now bracing for an epic showdown against Pakistan A. In the semi-final encounter, India A showcased their prowess by setting a challenging target of 211 for Bangladesh A, who fell short and were all out for 160, handing India A a resounding 51-run triumph.
