Above all, it was the fans, who were left disappointed. At times, even if there was no rain in the air, the wet conditions did not help the cause of the game. But the players on some of the days made their days. The likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Umran Malik signed autographs for fans, who had come to watch a good game on the field.

Day 4 of the match did not start on time. The wet outfield meant that the players had to wait for the umpires to inspect the conditions for it to be termed safe to play. When the umpires finally showed the green light, it was the New Zealand A batters, who walked onto bat as India A declared at 229/6.

It also gave the Indian A bowlers a crack at the opposition. Only 12.5 overs of action was allowed on the day before the heaven opened again in Hubballi. IN that one hour of play available, India A bowlers Mukesh Kumar and Shardul Thakur managed to scalp one wicket each. The former sent back Joe Carter and latter dismissed Dane Cleaver.

A couple of days earlier when India had taken to the field with the bat, it was not an easy task as well. WIth cloud cover and rain, New Zealand A bowlers had reduced India to 68/4, but Priyank Panchal and KS Bharat steadied the ship brilliantly. Both of them completed the half-century too and help the team overcome the tricky situation.
