As per Pakistani media, he has only sustained minor injuries and has ben taken to hospital. However, one unidentified person, succumed to injuries at the hospital. Khan was leading an anti-government protest march in Islamabad. Imran Khan is the leader of recently ousted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The accused has been arrested as per reports. “Imran Khan sahb is safe. According to ground teams culprit is arrested. Incident happened near Allah hoo chowk Wazirabad,” PTI leader Azhar Mashwani said on Twitter.

His supporters accuse that there was an attempt on his life. However, the assassination attempt failed with some of the party supporters also suffering injuries.
After the former Pakistan PM was shot on his right leg, the police shifted him to a bullet proof van from the container that was carrying him. He was taken to a hospital in Lahore soon after the incident took place. Doctors have said that the former Pakistan captain received bullet injuries but he is safe, the local media reported.
“He is in a stable condition,” Raoof Hasan, a senior Khan aide told AFP, adding: “This was an attempt to kill him, to assassinate him.”
“Allah has given me another life, I will fight back Inshallah,” Imran Khan said in a statement after the chaotic scenario unfolded, Pakistan media reported.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the incident. He has asked Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to seek an immediate report from the inspector-general of police. Member of the Senate of Pakistan Faisal Javed Khan, meanwhile, spoke about the incident after he was injured in the assassination attempt on Imran Khan.
This was the second march held by Khan in 2022. His first march in May also turned out chaotic after it reached the red zone.
