24 hours after a 10-year sentencing in cipher case, former Pakistan skipper and Primer Minister, Imran Khan has been sentenced to 14 years in prison in Toshakhana case.
Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, has also been convicted and sentenced to a 14-year prison term. The World Cup-winning captain has also been fined USD 2.9 million.
Khan’s ban from contesting elections has also been extended from five years to ten years.

Notably, Imran Khan’a current 14-year sentence will run concurrently with his ten-year term in cipher case.
“I have never played or watched a fixed match in my life, and I don’t want to sit here and be part of this fixed match. I am in pain, can I go?”, Khan reportedly said to his lawyers after the conviction in cipher case on Tuesday.
What is Toshakhana case?
The Toshakhana case revolves around accusations that Imran Khan neglected to deposit £19 million or $24,080,695 given by the British government. Instead, he permitted a property tycoon to utilize the funds to partially offset a Rs 460 billion fine imposed by the Supreme Court.
