Jos Buttler suggests Jofra Archer to ‘take his time’ before making England comeback

Jofra has had a rough couple of years. He returned to fitness in March this year but injured his elbow just two months after making his comeback and missed the ODI World Cup 2023.

England white-ball skipper Jos Buttler has expressed his desire to have gun bowler Jofra Archer back in his team. Buttler made the comment after England lost both the ODI and T20I series to the West Indies. The reason behind the English skipper’s claim was his tumultuous year both as a leader and a batter.

After losing the WI vs ENG 5th T20I by 5 wickets, Buttler was quoted by Reuters, expressing his desire to see Jofra back to his best. The English skipper revealed that he hasn’t spoken to the injury-prone fast bowler but met him briefly in Barbados.

“I haven’t spoken to Jof. Obviously, I saw him in Barbados; it was good to see him back in training with us and bowling well. I know the medical team and staff have got a good plan for him, and I think I speak on behalf of all England cricket fans and cricket fans around the world that we want to see Jof back and back for good. So I think it’s important that he takes his time,” the wicketkeeper batter said on Jofra Acher.

England coach Matthew Mott wants Jofra Archer fit for the T20 World Cup

A couple of days ago, head white-ball head coach Matthew Motts reiterated the same.

In terms of Jofra, you’ve just got absolute box-office pace, change of pace, bowl any over in the innings,” he said.

“Him on the park is massive; everyone would agree with that,” Mott said about the possibility of having Jofra Archer fit for the T20 World Cup 2024.
