‘Immaculate’, ex-cricketers applaud Mohammed Siraj’s fiery opening spell in IND vs SA 2nd Test

Siraj ended his opening spell with 6 wickets in nine overs, giving away just 15 runs.

Mohammed Siraj’s on fire! After a disappointing first Test, the pacer came out with vengeance in the IND vs SA 2nd Test. After a great first over, Siraj got Aiden Markram his second over as Yashasvi Jaiswal took a good catch in the third slip. In his next over, he induced an inside edge off the bat off skipper Dean Elgar that rattled the stumps.

In his 5th over, he continued his form, getting Tony de Zorzi strangled down the leg. A tiring Mohammed Siraj continued to bowl. In his 8th consecutive over, he dismissed David Bedingham and Marco Jansen to claim his maiden fifer in South Africa.

However, the bowler was far from done. With no signs of fatigue, Siraj came steaming in once again. This time, the only batter left, Kyle Verreynne, was his victim, as South Africa were reduced to 45-7.
