Imad Wasim is the most recent victim of rumour-mongering. The all-rounder, who made a U-turn on his retirement to give Pakistan hope of winning their second T20 World Cup title, has been thrown under the bus by his own teammates, fans, and even former players.
It was alleged that Imad was injured but was playing despite it. Of course, when Pakistan lost to India, everyone went for his head. Although he did well with the ball, his batting wasn’t up to the mark. Before the Pakistan vs Ireland match, the all-rounder talked about his ‘supposed’ injury.
“I was 100% passed fit by the medical panel after which I played. I’ve always played cricket with a fighting spirit. Yes, I’m responsible for failing to execute so you can talk about that, but please don’t talk about other matters. We also have families and people that care for us and support us. It’s hurtful to hear some of the things (that have been said),” said Imad.

Imad Wasim comes to Azam Khan’s rescue
Imad also defended his teammate, Azam Khan. The wicketkeeper batter has been getting thrashed left, right, and center by former players and fans. People have been targeting Azam for his physique following his failure against the USA.
“When I was on TV as an analyst, I always spoke about cricket. I never did body-shaming or made personal comments. I’ve always maintained that we should never get personal and rather talk about cricket and how it should be played,” Imad concluded.
