In what is a crucial blow for Pakistan, batter Imad Wasim has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup. the all-rounder missed the side’s tournament opener against the USA due to a side strain. As per BBN Sports, Wasim could be given injections and pain killers in an attempt to make him fit for IND vs PAK clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9.
No Imad Wasim for IND vs PAK?
As per the report, Imad is ‘80% certain’ of being sent back home after the contest against India. Mehran Mumtaz, who has cleared the fitness test at the NCA in Lahore, has been kept on standby. Meanwhile, youngster Saim Ayub is expected to open the innings for the side along with Mohammad Rizwan.
Earlier, Babar Azam had said, “Although Imad won’t play the first game, we hope that he will be available for the rest of the matches.”
