A total of 34 matches will be played across six venues in the United Arab Emirates. The final of the tournament will be hosted on February 12 in Dubai. Each team will play five home and five away matches before the Playoffs. Here, we look at 10 things that make International T20 LEAGUE a must-watch affair –

1. Owners

While not entirely a Mini IPL, there is IPL involvement in the ILT20 league. Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders have franchises in the competition. Two of the other three teams have Indian owners with Adani Sportsline-owned Gulf Giants and Capri Global-owned Sharjah Warriors. The Glazer family, who also own Manchester United, are owners of Desert Vipers.

2. Overseas stars galore

Unlike the IPL,  SA20 and other leagues, the ILT20 has an abundance of overseas quality. While rules permit franchises to use only a maximum of four foreigners, the ILT20 has more than doubled it to 9. Only 2 players from the host nation need to feature in the Playing XI.

5. Paycheck

After the IPL, the ILT20 offers the biggest paycheck to the cricketers. The new-formed league offers top players a whopping USD 450,000 per season (Rs3.64 crore approx). As per Cricinfo, the highest pay in PSL is USD 200,000. The Hundred offers its best-paid player USD 164,000, and the most expensive overseas players in the BBL make about USD 238,000 per season.

6.  Retired IPL stars

Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan will be in action during the tournament. The recently retired 2007 T20 World Cup winners signed for the Dubai Capitals. Uthappa and Pathan retired from International and Indian cricket to make themselves available. The tournament is one of the few times fans can see them play live. There is the same case for Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo, both of who will feature for the MI Emirates.
