ILT20 2023: A bizarre incident happened during the ILT20 clash between the Desert Vipers and MI Emirates at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. A fan standing on the highway near the stadium ran away with the match ball when it was smashed out of the stadium. He also showed the ball to the car passing by. The first incident happened in the 18th over. Matheesha Pathirana was bowling the over, while MI Emirates debutant Dan Mousley was on strike.
The third ball of the over landed in the slot, Mousley picked up the length early and shovelled the ball over the deep square leg fence. As the ball hit the top of the roof and bounced away onto the adjoining highway, a fan collected it and kept it with him as a souvenir.
In fact, he even had time to show it off to a person who was passing by in a car.
The second incident took place on the third ball of the 19th over when Tom Curran bowled a short delivery outside off stump. Kieron Pollard stood back in his crease smashed it over deep mid-wicket and clattered it at 104 metres. Although this time another fan picked up the ball, crossed the road and threw the ball back to the stadium.

Pollard was in sublime form on January 29. He came into bat in the 13th over at no.3 and completed his half-century from just 19 deliveries. He reached the milestone with a six-off Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana. It is also the joint-fastest fifty of the tournament so far.
With Pollard’s 19-ball fifty and Mousley’s 17-ball 31 cameo, MI Emirates posted a mammoth total of 241/3. Vipers failed to put up a fight as they got bundled out for 84 in 12.1 overs and lost the game by a massive margin of 157 runs.
