“If you are really a good team…”: Saqlian Mushtaq issues challenge to Team India

Last sunday, India defeated Pakistan in Dubai by 6 wickets in ICC Champions Trophy

The India Cricket Team went on to beat Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy last week. And after India’s continued wins over their arch rivals, questions have been raised whether the India vs Pakistan rivalry now lives up to the hype or not. While the majority of the pundits believe so, former Pakistani spin legend Saqlain Mushtaq doesn’t harbor the same thought.

He has now apparently thrown a new challenge to India, asking them to play 10 Tests, 10 ODIs and 10 T20I matches in Pakistan itself to prove that they are the superior side. In the ICC Champions Trophy, the Indian government didn’t allow the team to travel to Pakistan, as a result, all India’s matches are taking place in Dubai.

Open challenge to Indian Cricket Team?

“If we keep political things aside, their players are very good, and they have been playing good cricket. If you are really a good team, I think let’s play 10 Tests, 10 ODIs and 10 T20Is against Pakistan, then everything would be clear,” Saqlain Mushtaq said on 24 News HD channel.

Over the years, the performance of the Pakistan Cricket Team has been on the decline. In recent times, the two arch rivals only lock horns in international tournaments like ICC events or ACC events. Amid the geopolitical scene, India has refused to travel to Pakistan, despite the latter being the hosts of the tournament.

“If we get our preparation right and sort out things in the right direction, then we will be in a situation where we can give solid answers to the world and India as well,” said Mushtaq.
