Cricket rivalry between India and Pakistan have been not been as exciting in recent times, according to former India batter and 2011 ODI World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir believes that India’s current cricket team is better than Pakistan and hence the rivalry between the two teams has become less intense.

The India-Pakistan match-up has always been regarded as one of the best in the world, but Gambhir said that the recent matches have not matched the hype. There have only been a handful of matches, like the match in Melbourne in 2022, that have given the fans the thrill they were hoping for.
“Pakistan have dominated India a lot of times. Currently, if you see the level of both teams, India are far superior to Pakistan in all three formats. If Pakistan defeat India it’s an upset, if India defeat Pakistan, it’s very much given,” Gautam Gambhir said on Star Sports.
In spite of being one of the most intense affairs of world cricket, due to political reasons, India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series in almost 10 years. As a result, their matches at international or continental level are always high on the cricket agenda.
