The question of the hour – Will Hardik Pandya make it to the ICC T20 World Cup. As per reports, the Mumbai Indians skipper will have to improve his performances significantly. But then on the contrary, India doesn’t have an efficient all-rounder like Hardik Pandya. So if not Hardik Pandya? Then who should get selected for the Team India squad for World Cup?
Hardik Pandya made a return to Mumbai Indians as their new skipper. And trouble began from their. Out of 7 matches MI have played so far, they have managed to win just 3 games. Individually, it has been a hard time for Hardik himself. Poor batting, bowling and leadership abilities have been coupled with constant booing from his own Mumbai Indians fans.

141 runs in 7 innings with a highest score of 39, sums up Hardik’s batting performance in IPL 2024 so far. Adding to it, the MI skipper hasn’t been bowling full tilt. A previous report claimed that the BCCI Selection Committee wants him to bowl full throttle if he wants to get a chance in the team.
While Hardik Pandya remains cautious of his injury and workload, it is of paramount importance that he performs well in IPL. Heading into the ICC tournament without a good IPL will be a huge disadvantage both for the player and the team.
Also there is another question – If he doesn’t get selection, who would be the likely replacement? The straight up answer would be Shivam Dube. The destructive southpaw has shone brightly. He has managed to slam 245 runs 7 innings. The only disadvantage – Shivam Dube has been used as an impact batting player for CSK and hasn’t bowled.
