In order to have any chance of making it to he final of the World Test Championship, they need to play out of their skin against Bangladesh and Australia. As per the current cycle, India are left to play two Test series, against Bangladesh (away) later this year and Australia (home) next year.
India should not have much problem in beating Bangladesh away from home as well. But the big test lies at home, against Australia. India are a top Test side at home, but Australia have always proved to be a tough opponent at the middle, be it home or away. The result of the Australia series could eventually decide India’s fate in the final standings as well.
The race for the WTC 2023 final may be hotting up, but the venue has not been decided yet. Though Lords remains a strong possibility, the official decision will only be taken next month.
