ICC Test rankings: Bumrah on top again, Jaiswal climbs to no. 2, Kohli makes big jump

Bumrah reclaims No. 1 in ICC Test Bowler Rankings, Jaiswal climbs to No. 2 among batters, and Kohli rises 9 spots with his 30th ton.

Indian cricket fans have a reason to celebrate again as Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli rise up in the latest ICC rankings. Jasprit Bumrah has reclaimed the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowler Rankings after his spectacular performance against Australia in Perth. His eight-wicket haul was crucial in India’s 295-run win during the first Test of the ICC World Test Championship. Bumrah surpassed South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood in the ranks.

On the other side, India’s sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal has impressed by moving to second place in the ICC Test Batter Rankings after scoring 161 runs in the second innings against Australia. This career-best performance put him close to England’s Joe Root, who tops the list. Virat Kohli’s 30th Test century has elevated him nine spots to 13th place in the Test Batter Rankings.

Progress for Mohammed Siraj

Along with Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, made progress by moving up 3 spots to 25th after claiming five wickets against Australia in Perth. Outside the top 10, a trio of West Indies pacers is making waves, with Jayden Seales, Kemar Roach, and Alzarri Joseph rising in the rankings following strong performances in their first Test against Bangladesh recently.

Jadeja is still on top in all-rounders

Despite not playing the Test against Australia in Perth, India’s Ravindra Jadeja followed by Ravichandran Ashwin remain at the top in the Test all-rounder rankings. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan improved to equal third with his compatriot Shakib al Hasan after strong performances against the West Indies.

ODI rankings update

In ODI rankings, Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams re-enters the batter rankings at 43rd after his latest performance against Pakistan. Pakistan’s Saim Ayub makes it into the top 100 of the ODI batter rankings at 90th with a swift century against Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi loses his No.1 ODI bowler ranking to Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan after missing matches in Bulawayo against Zimbabwe.
