Cricket fans in Pakistan are in for a treat as the coveted ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 trophy arrived in Islamabad for a three-day tour. This follows the trophy’s journey that began in the United States last month.
Glimpse of ICC T20 World Cup Trophy for Fans
The prestigious ICC T20 World Cup trophy is currently on display in front of Pakistan’s National Assembly in Islamabad, allowing fans a chance to witness it up close. Cricket enthusiasts in Lahore won’t be left out either – the trophy will be showcased at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) this Saturday at 4:30 PM PST.
Double Dose of Cricket Excitement
Fans attending the final T20I match of the ongoing five-match series between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium will be treated to a special surprise – the T20 World Cup trophy will be on display there as well.
The trophy will also make a trip to Abbottabad during its stay in Pakistan.
USA-West Indies gear up for T20 World Cup
The T20 World Cup itself gets underway on June 1st, with co-host USA taking on their arch-rivals Canada in the opening match. Fellow co-host West Indies will face off against Papua New Guinea on the second day.
Global Cricket extravaganza
A total of nine venues across the USA and the Caribbean will play host to the tournament. The groups and fixtures for this ninth edition of the T20 World Cup were recently announced by the ICC. Ten out of the 20 participating teams will begin their journey in the USA, with 16 matches scheduled across Lauderhill, Dallas, and New York.
Cricket fans are particularly excited about the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan, slated for June 9th at the new Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island.
