Pakistan were third entering the tournament, but three wins in three games have given them some crucial ranking points, putting them on par with India’s tally, who lost to the Men in Green in their opening game.
Should Virat Kohli and Co. now lose to New Zealand on Sunday, Pakistan will go second, two points ahead of their arch-rivals. England still are on top with 279 points. The rankings will continue to change as the T20 World Cup progresses.

Babar Azam is likely to surpass Dawid Malan to take the No.1 spot in the batter’s rankings following his two half-centuries in the competition, while opening partner Mohammed Rizwan has also closed in on the third spot, jumping three places. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have also gained massively, with the former closing in on the top 10, while Rauf has entered the top 20s.
