ICC T20 Rankings: Race for World No 1 T20 Batsman: The race for number one spot in the ICC men’s T20 batting has been really intriguing of late. In the latest rankings released on Wednesday, Mohammad Rizwan dethroned Babar Azam for the top spot. The race for the number one spot has been really interesting, especially during the Asia Cup. At one point, even Suryakumar was one of the hot favourites for the top spot. But things have not gone according to plan as he has slipped to fourth in the list. Just before the Asia Cup, it was said to be a battle between Babar and Suryakumar primarily.

Rizwan has deservedly acclaimed the top spot with some wonderful innings. He has amassed 192 runs in three matches in the ongoing Asia Cup. He has played three matches so far, and his lowest has been 43. His last two matches score reads 71 and 78 not out against India and Hong Kong respectively, which has helped him attain the number one slot.
At present, Rizwan has 815 points. Babar and Markaram have 794 and 792 points respectively. Suryakumar has 775 on his kitty.
When it comes to Babar, things have been quite flat for the Pakistan captain. He has scores of 14, 9 and 10 in the Asia Cup, which has not helped his cause. Though Suryakumar has been better with 68, 13 and 34, but Rizwan has toppled both Babar and Suryakumar.

In fact, Markaram has even out done the Indian. The SOuth Africa player has even gone ahead of Suryakumar. However, the nature of the rankings is such that it can change in a matter of day. So, interesting few days lie ahead.
As far as India batters ranking goes, Surya is the highest ranked. Rohit Sharma has moved three places higher, and lies on 14th position. Virat Kohli is on 29th position after his zero in the last match against Sri Lanka.
