The ICC Champions Trophy is slated to take place in February-March of 2025. The ICC is however surprised and stunned with the confidence of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The ICC is very surprised knowing that 6 months are left for the tournament and yet PCB has no contingency plans about India’s participation.
As things stand there are huge doubts about India’s travel to Pakistan. For Team India to travel to Pakistan, they would require the permission from the Indian Government. Knowing these concerns Pakistan is yet to make other plans for hosting India in a neutral country.

ICC stunned with PCB
Pakistan got the hosting rights for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Team India has already claimed that they want a hybrid model as has been the case in Asia Cup 2023. Under no circumstance will Team India travel to Pakistan for the tournament. If other provisions are not made, India has threatened to boycott the event.
The PCB on the other hand believes that the ICC can convince the BCCI to send the Indian Cricket Team to Pakistan for the mega tournament. The ICC has also sanctioned a supplementary budget for Pakistan to arrange hosting India’s matches in a different country.
But no such measures have been taken by Pakistan, given that just 6 months remain for the start of the tournament. Pakistan’s narrative remains the same – they want the entire tournament to held in their country.
