The ICC has finally released the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy. But along with it comes 3 reserve days in the tournament. While there is no provision of any reserve days during the group stage matches. There is however provision in the knockout matches.
The ICC has already made arrangements for reserve days in both the semi finals and the finals. What is more interesting is that 2 reserve days have been planned based on the two venues of the finals.
Dual reserve days for Champions Trophy Finals
2 venues for the finals have been selected for the ICC Champions Trophy. If India reach the finals, then it will be held in Dubai. On the other hand, if India fail to reach the finals the it will be held in Lahore. While the date for the final is 9th March, the next day, i.e. 10th March is kept has the reserve day for the finals.
If Team India reaches semi finals 1 then 5th March has been allotted as reserve day. On the other hand, 6th March has been kept as the reserve day for semi finals 2 which will be held at Lahore.
Like every ICC event, there is always provision for a reserve day so that the game can take place if it gets wasted on the scheduled date. And that would also be the case for the Champions Trophy.
