An International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation will visit Pakistan this week to inspect the preparations for the Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan is racing against time to get the venues prepared for the marquee event which the country is set to host in February 2025. As per a report, this is set to be the final round of inspection that the ICC will conduct.
ICC delegation to inspect preparations in Pakistan for CT 2025
As per Cricket Pakistan, a delegation comprising of six members will assess the preparations and will also suggest improvements, if needed. The delegation will include the heads of various ICC committees. It is pertinent to point out that delegations from the ICC have already visited Pakistan thrice in the past to review the preparations.

The report further states that the delegation will visit Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi to inspect the venues. It is to be noted that the stadiums in Karachi and Lahore are currently undergoing renovation works ahead of CT 2025. The delegation, during their five-day visit to Pakistan, will also meet with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials to discuss a variety of matters including schedules, practice matches, practice venues, and ticketing.
Will Pakistan be ready in time for CT 2025?
Pakistan are currently racing against time to get the venues ready for Champions Trophy 2025. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is confident that the stadiums will be ready and has promised that the renovation works will be completed as per the timeline set. He has been conducting regular inspections at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore and the National stadium in Karachi, directing officials to complete the works as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, it still remains uncertain if the ICC will adopt an hybrid model for CT 2025, given that India has not yet cleared its stance over willingness to visit Pakistan. India last visited Pakistan in 2008 for Asia Cup following which geopolitical tensions forced the latter to boycott cricket in Pakistan. With Jay Shah set to take charge as ICC chairman in December, it remains to be seen if Pakistan will be able to retain the hosting rights completely.
