ICC Cyberattack: ICC Phishing Attack – Cricket’s world governing body too has fallen victim to online fraud. International Cricket Council has reportedly lost $2.5 million (Rs 203 Cr approx) after scamsters repeatedly duped ICC. Following the incident, ICC has launched an investigation with help of US Law Enforcement agencies. Follow India Cricket LIVE & IND vs NZ LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
While Rs 203 Cr may not be much for BCCI, it is a big chunk of money for associate nations. Smaller associate nations get around $500,000 to a $1 million (with ODI status). Other associate nations earn around 10 million and it’s a sizeable chunk.
“It can’t be true. An ODI Associate 13-20 ranked can get anything between 500,000 to one million,” an official of an associate nation, in disbelief, told Cricbuzz.
A “Jamtara” has happened with the International Cricket Council (ICC). 🤦🏾
For those who can’t get the reference, “Jamtara” is an exceptionally good series on Netflix that deals with the “phishing” menace.
You must watch it, if you haven’t already. : )
