ICC confirms global Champions Trophy 2025 tour after ordering PCB to cancel PoK gig

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour began today in Islamabad after the cancellation of events in Pakistan.

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour has kicked off with a mix of controversies and celebrations. In a major setback to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the ICC cancelled the trophy’s scheduled tour in Skardu, Hunza, and Muzaffarabad, areas located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Now, ICC is set for a global Trophy Tour, which will commence today in Islamabad. The prestigious silverware is set to journey across all eight participating nations, giving fans unique opportunities to connect with the tournament.

On its opening day in Islamabad, the trophy will be displayed at iconic landmarks like Daman-e-Koh, Faisal Mosque, and the Pakistan Monument. Adding to the excitement, Pakistan cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar will grace the event at these locations, making the launch a memorable experience.

Trophy tour across Pakistan

After its launch in Islamabad, the trophy will visit iconic cities and venues across Pakistan, including Karachi, Abbottabad, and Taxila. Following its journey in Pakistan, the silverware will launch on an international tour. The Trophy Tour will feature a mix of physical and digital engagements, travelling to key sporting events, cricket matches, and famous destinations on the international cricket calendar.

Trophy tour to start in Pakistan and end in India

Starting in Islamabad on 16th November, the tour will travel across various cities in Pakistan, including Taxila, Khanpur, Abbottabad, Murree, Nathia Gali, and Karachi. After its Pakistan leg, the trophy will visit Afghanistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, England, and at last India, on 15th January, before concluding in Pakistan on 27th January, marking the start of the event.

Special contest for the fans

Fans can enjoy a special content series titled ‘Champion on Tour’, which will document the trophy’s global journey through the lens of food, music, and cricket, providing an engaging narrative of the tour.

Anurag Dahiya, the ICC’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed his excitement about the launch. He said, “We are delighted to launch the Trophy Tour with DP World ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, bringing fans around the world closer to the event.” Dahiya also highlighted the unique experience for fans, saying, “The silverware will be showcased across all participating nations, giving passionate fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close with the iconic trophy.”
