The England cricket team’s upcoming tour of Pakistan has undergone a slight schedule change. The second Test of the series has been relocated from the National Stadium in Karachi to the Multan Cricket Stadium. This adjustment is due to ongoing renovation work at the Karachi stadium in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy next year.
Champions Trophy work still not completed
Originally slated to be played from October 15-19 in Karachi, the second Test will now take place at the Multan Cricket Stadium on the same dates. As a result, Multan will host two Tests during the tour, including the first Test from October 7. The third Test will remain as scheduled, taking place from October 24-28 in Rawalpindi. It is now for the two back-to-back Test series in Pakistan as in the previous series against Bangladesh, the second Test was moved from Karachi to Rawalpindi.
The England team is set to arrive in Multan on October 2, coinciding with the arrival of the Pakistan team. The PCB Director – International, Usman Wahla, expressed his enthusiasm for the tour and assured fans of a memorable experience despite the minor schedule changes.
“We are committed to supporting fans and ensuring a fiercely competitive Test series,” Wahla stated. “PCB is thrilled to welcome the England men’s cricket team back to Pakistan and showcase our renowned hospitality.”
