Despite the India cricket team‘s matches in the Champions Trophy 2025 being shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is still set to earn a big amount of money. Out of the 15 matches scheduled to be played, four are confirmed to be played in the UAE.
PCB to ICC Champions Trophy revenue boost
These matches will be all of Team India’s group stage games, which also include the high-octane India vs Pakistan match on February 23. The first semifinal is also set to be played in Dubai. Despite this, Pakistan will generate good revenue. According to Cricket Pakistan, the PCB has had a chat with the Emirates Cricket Board, and it’s expected that they will be paid 50% of the total ticketing revenue.
The Dubai International Cricket Ground has a capacity of 25,000, and for all of Team India’s matches, the first semifinal and the final of the Champions Trophy 2025, we can expect a fully packed stadium. The International Cricket Council (ICC) will announce ticket prices and sale schedules soon.
How India reaching Champions Trophy Final can affect PCB’s revenge
The only way PCB can lose out on some money is if Team India reaches the final of the ICC Champions Trophy. So far, the deal the PCB made with the ICC is that, if India doesn’t reach the final, it will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. But if India qualifies, it’ll be played at the Dubai International Cricket Ground.
