Back in December of 2023, the PCB signed the hosting rights of the prestigious tournament from the ICC. The Pakistani Cricket Board’s primary target is establishing proper security features during the tournament. With other foreign teams visiting the country during the tournament, adequate safety and security concerns is a must.

A total of 8 teams will take part in the tournament. Apart from hosts, i.e Pakistan, the top 7 teams in terms of the ODI World Cup 2023 rankings will participate in this tournament. Two groups of 4 teams will be made and then the tournament will progress to the semis and the finals.

India Cricket Team‘s travel to Pakistan still remain out of bounds. The BCCI has no say in the matter. It will be decision of the Central Government. But it is highly unlikely that India will travel to the tournament. It is expected that India will play their games in a neutral venue as was the case in Asia Cup 2023.
