Former Australian cricketer Ian Chappell on Monday heaped praises on Indian captain Rohit Sharma for his leadership skills. Rohit on Monday led India to another Test series win over England.
India were convincing throughout the IND vs ENG Test series although the Rohit Sharma led team had to deal with a number of setbacks. Virat Kohli pulled out of the IND vs ENG series due to personal commitments. To add to the woes, regular starters KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were ruled out after the first Test due to injuries.
Rohit has been quite brilliant since taking over the captaincy mantle in Tests. He has won 9 out of 15 Tests he has led India, with a win percentage of almost 70 per cent.

Rohit has led India in 5 Tests away from home. He has won two, lost two and drawn one. His record at home is even better, winning 7 out of 10 games, losing two and drawing 1.
Ian Chappell, in his column on ESPNCricinfo, asserted that that Rohit Sharma has kept the Indian team steady through shuffling squads.
“In the sudden shuffling of the Indian side after a prolonged period of selection stability, the leadership of Rohit Sharma is often overlooked. His capable handling of the many changes to personnel and the tough loss of the first Test shows his resilience. He also produced a masterful century when the Indian team needed it, at the start of the third Test, to confirm he wasn’t a ceremonial captain. Rohit has a pedigree of leadership success and his reputation helped him guide a fluid Indian line-up in the right direction,” wrote Chappell.
